INSA Launches - Cyber Competition 2020 in Ethiopia First Ever
Students and professionals are invited to take part in the competition, as the Cyber Competition is designed to compete with individuals and groups who have created a highly competitive and significant product and service to help our country maximize its potential in the cyber sector.
It's time for Ethiopians to show and promote there Cyber skill on the first-ever Hosted Cyber challenge by Information Network Security Agency (INSA).
As INSA said they set up an exciting incentive and interesting benefits for competitors such as - Monetary, Startup, Job opportunities, Incubation of ideas, and Scholarships for selected innovative, demonstrable, and real-world complex problems solution makers.
INSA has Introduced 6 category descriptions for potential students and professionals for all Ethiopians and generations of Ethiopians living all over the world are eligible to participate individually and with a group in the challenge.
Cryptography
The focus of this challenge is calling for and recognizing innovative ideas on cryptographic algorithms development, enhancements on already existing algorithms, mathematical models, PKI technologies, and others that can be demonstrated by either POC, prototype, demonstrative implementations, or other means that can prove the legitimacy of the innovations.
Development
The focus of this challenge is calling for and recognizing innovative ideas on cybersecurity with solutions (applications, platforms), new algorithms, enhancements on already existing algorithms and others that can be demonstrated by either POC, prototype, fully developed solution or other means that can prove the legitimacy of the innovations.
Cyber Security Governance
This focus area covers innovative ideas and solutions which can solve real problems related to the development and implementation of governing cybersecurity frameworks such as policies, regulations, standards, and other frameworks at a national and organizational level. It also includes innovative ideas and solutions related to cybersecurity awareness and culture building for organizations and the public.
Communication and Network Security
The focus of this challenge is to invite individuals or groups with innovative ideas to participate in the area of channel security, Data security, and Network security. In this challenge individuals or groups are expected to come up with a convincing (original or modified) algorithm, POC, Prototype, or any demonstrable implementation in mentioned areas. Best innovation will be awarded.
Proposed General description
This challenge focuses on finding security vulnerabilities in different given or self-proposed systems and exploiting them to show that the vulnerabilities really exist. It may also include writing exploits.
So as we mentioned above anyone with those abilities and skills can register and participate in those categories. As well as they have provided guidelines and the process of the competition in their dashboard. we have included that too and keep reading.
Guidelines and Rules
Cyber challenge 2012 competitors should strictly follow the following guidelines:Ethiopians and generations of Ethiopians living all over the world are eligible to participate on the challenge.
There are two tracks, Excellence Cyber Challenge Track (Professionals) and Students Cyber Challenge Track. Applicants should select the right track applicable to them. Those who select students track should submit justifiable information that shows they are students and do not have professional work experience in the area they are competing.
Competitors should be registered and select their area of competition from the lists. If they believe their work is not included in the areas mentioned, they can select other categories. All information should be filled properly and genuinely within the given registration period.
Registered Competitors will get detailed guidelines and rules on their dashboard during the submission period. The submission period will start at the completion of the registration period.
Competitors should visit their dashboard regularly since additional information and their result will be notified using their dashboard. Email and phone communication may not be applied unless it is required.
Competitors should submit works that:
are original, innovative, and demonstrable
solve real-world complex problems that will contribute to the nation
demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skill
Similar or nearly similar work should not be submitted more than once.
Any application which is submitted after the deadline will not be considered
Competitors must be available for any contact if required.
Competitors must submit true and accurate information, and join the competition with his/her true identity. If a competitor has submitted inaccurate or incomplete information, the competitor will be disqualified.
INSA has the sole discretion to cancel, modify, or suspend the competition. Competitors are not entitled to any compensation claim based on the cancellation, modification, or suspension of the competition.
The decision of INSA is final for all competition-related matters and all stakeholders shall not raise any objection on the decision.
The information, photos, and videos relating to the Competition may be published in the publications or the website of the agency, sponsors, and supporting organizations for publicity purposes as required.
